Lyckerty Splyt Ceilidh Band |
||||||
These music clips cover a range of styles and will provide some idea of the way we sound. Each clip is taken from a live studio recording so what you hear is a good representation of what you get. The tunes played by the band come from a variety of sources. Some have been learnt from informal pub sessions, others from recordings and books - no source is ignored if we like the tune. Most of the band's repertoire is made up of traditional tunes which have undergone the 'Lyckerty Splyt treatment'. Use the players below to hear us in action. |

| Shave the Donkey | (30secs/467K) |

| This is quite a recent addition for us, although it's a traditional Morris Dance tune well known exponents in that area. The band was asked to learn and record this for a school performance and ended up liking it so much that its found its way into more regular use. |

Used for step-hop dances such as 'Clopton Bridge', 'The Tipsy Parson' is paired with 'St Anne's', which is the second tune you hear in this clip. |
